So, the other day, I watched Sonny with a Chance

… and watching it made me realize three things.

  1. It actually wasn’t half-bad (shock. gasp. denial.)
  2. … with the exception of Demi Lovato. I heard her sing before and was convinced that acting must’ve been her saving grace in stardom. After seeing her act for the first time, I wonder why she’s even famous at all.
  3. Sonny with a Chance does “behind-the-scenes of a hit variety skit show” so much better than Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip could have ever done. Aaron Sorkin and a cast of talented actors basically got outdone by a Disney show with Demi Lovato. This scares me a little bit.
  4. Oh, and the one cast member was also the kid in iCarly, the sweaty wrestler who was fond (not in that sense, by the way) with Freddie. Not that that has anything to do with anything, but I like iCarly, and thought this was note-worthy.

Crews: Dig a hole, fill it up.
(Life 1x11 - “Fill it Up”)

A rewatch is definitely in order.

I’ve been dying to watch Life, mostly because I think Damien Lewis is a handsome man. Thoughts?

Somebody’s Going To Emergency, Somebody’s Going To Jail just happens to be a personal favorite mine.

And it’s not just because of Big Block of Cheese Day, or being a Sam-centric episode (that first scene? Him sleeping in Toby’s office and having too much faith in the powers of a new shirt? Wibble.), or CJ or Josh and the cartographers, or Toby and the protesters, or Nancy McNally being awesome. A lot of the reason is because the use of Don Henley’s New York Minute. Shallow, but it’s a great song.

The West Wing: 2.01-2.02 In The Shadow Of Two Gunmen

There isn’t an episode on television that has an emotional grip on me like this episode does. Everything about it is utter perfection to me, from beginning to end, from the writing to the directing, to the lighting, to the music to the acting.

This was my first episode, jumping into the foray of The West Wing, and I was destroyed from the first five minutes. Mind you, coming back from a major cliffhanger, I wasn’t surprised at how lost I was at first, but shocked at how glued I was, and amazed how I can watch this episode over and over again and feel the same wave of emotions. There are so many moments I can pick out from this episode:

You know, I’ve been asked what is my favorite episode of The West Wing in its past seven seasons, and I’ve always fallen short of an answer. Somehow that question became a whole lot easier to answer now.

And with this episode, I can answer Leo McGarry’s question: Yes. We can get a good man elected.
