Okay I know some TBBT fans are going HUH? at the title. But it’s not like that really. What I mean is that if the people behind the Big Bang Theory really wanted us to find Sheldon more abrasive and out right hate him, this is where I believe they made a misstep, especially with the female audience.

- Sheldon’s fully absorbed in his work. He is alway concentrated in his research, and if he isn’t, he’s absorbed in one of his nerdy revreational activities. But you may or may not know that that can actually make someone seem more attractive.

-Also, Sheldon/Jim is from Texas, and therefore has a Texas accent. Accents are considered a turn on. The accents with the best turn on rate include French and Italian, but they’re not the only ones. I for one adore Scottish, Irish, West and South African, Australian and English accents. The Texan accent immediately makes women think of cowboys, and as we all know, cowboys in themselves are turn ons.

-We all know, Jim isn’t conventionally pretty. And in that regard, they can be excused. But this is another misstep theymade; females don’t always go for conventionally pretty. They sometimes go for the quirky things that make somebody hot. Jim has the best arms in the business. And a jawline like no other. And a panty-melting smile. So maybe you don’t get to see the smile that much on the show, but you get to see the arms an the jawline and the HANDS! No wonder we’re all living vicariously through Penny (oh you know you are, all you Sheldon/Penny shippers)

- Sheldon is always in bright colours. Granted they all are, but half the fun of watchinh TBBT is seeing Sheldon’s t-shirt collection with the comic book homage prints. And his method of dress (like the others) is very consistent, so that all the women at home can undress him in their sleep, down to his tighty whiteys, which we learned about in the very first episode.

- The very fact that he is confused by social conventions is endearing. It’s what makes every nerd on and off tv endearing.

- Nerds are hot. Full stop. And the fact that they talk in a condescending tone, or act like a comic book super-villian will not make them less hot.

A++++++ rant. I’ve noticed it’s becoming a trend, where fans draw closer to all the other characters EXCEPT for the lead, and while I do love me some Leonard, my heart truly belongs to Sheldon.
